French Group Classes

Adult students who would like to learn French in depth have the opportunity to study the language through a hybrid (blended) course taught by an experienced native-speaker. All our group classes include a weekly face-to-face meeting in a small group setting and a carefully sequenced online course designed by Carnegie Mellon University.

The online lessons are highly interactive and media-rich, including videos produced with French actors, interactive activities, grammar and listening exercises, and lesson tests if desired. French culture, customs, and values are also introduced in the course. Each online lesson requires 3-4 hours to complete at your own pace during the week.

Once a week, students meet with the instructor as a small group (4-8 students) to practice the lesson content in conversations, role-plays, and to answer any questions they may have.  As we also want you to have a great time learning the language, we will also celebrate French cultural events, share drinks and snacks, and organize outings to apply what you learned in the real world!

Terms and Conditions

  • Class transfer or cancellation/refund requests must be made at least 7 days prior to your class start date. After this date, refunds cannot be given and we can't allow you to transfer your tuition to a different class. The only exception is for incorrect level placement and your instructor's approval after the first class is required in this situation. Please note that we can only accommodate such a class transfer provided that the class you wish to transfer to doesn't fill up.
  • Under no circumstances can group class credit be used towards private lessons lessons.
  • In the event of low enrollment in a group class (i.e. less than 4 participants), we reserve the right to cancel the class, postpone it to a later start date, or shorten the duration of the class. In this case, students will have the option to transfer their credit to a different class, or to get a refund if the new dates do not fit their schedule.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is disruptive, or who causes any kind of safety concern to our students or instructor.
